Maintenance Tips

Changing Your HVAC Air Filters
Keeping your HVAC’s air filter clean is vital to maintaining proper air flow throughout your home. Located behind the access panel, the air filter can be replaced within five to ten minutes. Most HVAC systems require the air to flow in a particular direction, which is indicated on the air filter’s edge by an arrow and message. When you replace the air filter, you improve the overall air quality in your home. The filtered air offers a cleaner smell, minimizes breathing difficulties, and reduces the amount of dust in your home. If you live in an area with a large pollen count, you should replace your filter after every pollen season or contact Done Well Services about installing an upgrade to minimize allergen levels.

Maintaining Your HVAC Condensing Unit
Located outside your home, the HVAC condensing unit releases heat outside to keep your system functioning at its fullest. Thousands of aluminum sheets surround the condensing unit ensure proper heat transfer. When covered with lint, dirt, debris, or leaves, the aluminum sheets are unable to properly cool down the condensing unit. To effectively clean your condensing unit, you can lightly rinse off the coils with a garden hose. You should not spray the water directly onto the coil; otherwise, you could bend the aluminum sheets, which can negatively impact your HVAC’s ability to cool effectively. You may need to rinse off your HVAC coil up to three times every cooling season. Should you experience a unit malfunction and need HVAC service in Dallas, you can contact Done Well Services at (214) 478-2534 for advice and, or service.
